Cognitive Processing by Prelingual Deaf Students as a Function of Language Context.
Morariu, Janis A.; Bruning, Roger H.
Journal of Educational Psychology, v76 n5 p844-56 Oct 1984

Prelingual deaf individuals' visual orientation produced a sign-based encoding system that responded to American Sign Language as a familiar language. (Author/BS)
