An Analysis and Comparison of Theoretical Models of the Reading-Writing Relationship.
Shanahan, Timothy; Lomax, Richard
Journal of Educational Psychology, v78 n2 p116-23 Apr 1986
This study compared and evaluated three alternative theoretical models of the reading-writing relationship. Reading dimensions included word analysis, vocabulary, and sentence comprehension components; writing dimensions included spelling, vocabulary, sentence structure, and story organization components. Models differed in sequential orderings of relationships of the reading and writing dimensions. (Author/LMO)
