Share, David L.; And Others
Journal of Educational Psychology, v76 n6 p1309-24 Dec 1984

The best predictors of reading achievement were tasks tapping phonological processing skills, interdigital dexterity, and familiarity with the alphabetic code of English script. Peer ability was a strong predictor of reading achievement. (Author/DWH)
