Bidirectionality of Influence in Classroom Interaction
Fiedler, Martha L.
Journal of Educational Psychology, 67, 6, 735-44, Dec 75
Results of systematic observation of teacher-student interaction in classrooms indicate that students exert influence over classroom events and accurately perceived their control. Students' perceive influence is related to academic achievement. The unidirectional model of teacher-to-student influence reflected in previous classroom research is found inadequate to characterize patterns of interaction. (Author/BJG)
