Same-Sex and Opposite-Sex Teacher Model Influences on Science Career Commitment Among High School Students

The relationship between the science career commitment and high school science teacher models was examined for 141 female and 129 male high school students. Teacher attractiveness and science-related teacher contact affected the influence of same-sex teachers more than that of opposite-sex teachers.
