Sex Differences in Predicting Final Examination Grades: The Influence of Past Performance, Attributions, and Achievement Motivation.
Halperin, Marcia S.; Abrams, Doris L.
Journal of Educational Psychology, v70 n5 p763-71 Oct 1978
Undergraduates in an economics course reported prior grade averages and their final exam predictions. Students rated the influence that ability, effort, task difficulty, and luck had on performance and completed an achievement motivation scale. Regression analyses provided support for the attribution model of achievement expectations. Sex differences were examined. (Author/RD)
