Peer Harassment, Psychological Adjustment, and School Functioning in Early Adolescence.
Juvonen, Jaana; Nishina, Adrienne; Graham, Sandra
Journal of Educational Psychology, v92 n2 p349-59 Jun 2000
Investigates the relations between peer harassment, psychological adjustment, and school functioning with a sample of middle school students. Tests a conceptual model that proposed that self-perceived peer harassment predicts psychological adjustment, which in turn predicts school outcomes. Changes in perception of victimization, self-worth, and loneliness predicted subsequent GPA, absenteeism, and teacher-rated social adjustment. (Contains 44 references and 4 tables.) (Author/GCP)
