Constructs of Student-Centered Online Learning on Learning Satisfaction of a Diverse Online Student Body: A Structural Equation Modeling Approach
Ke, Fengfeng; Kwak, Dean
Journal of Educational Computing Research, v48 n1 p97-122 2013
The present study investigated the relationships between constructs of web-based student-centered learning and the learning satisfaction of a diverse online student body. Hypotheses on the constructs of student-centered learning were tested using structural equation modeling. The results indicated that five key constructs of student-centered learning in online courses--learner relevance, active learning, authentic learning, learner autonomy, and computer technology competence--predicted students' perceived satisfaction with online courses and web-based distance education at a statistically significant level.
