A Comparative Study of the Attitudes of Alcoholic Veterans and Nonalcoholic Veterans toward Child Rearing Practices and Family Life.

Administered parental attitude questionnaire to alcoholic and nonalcoholic male veterans. Found significant differences between groups on six scales (Encouraging Verbalization, Avoiding Harsh Punishment, Encouraging Emotional Expression, Irresponsibility of Father, Inconsiderateness of Wife, and Tolerating Aggression). Found no significant difference regarding fatherhood, race, age, or social class. Alcoholism was only significant variable found. (Author/NB)
