Dye Photooxidation at Semiconductor Electrodes: A Corollary to Spectral Sensitization in Photography.
Spitler, M. T.
Journal of Chemical Education, v60 n4 p330-32 Apr 1983
Photochemical data are presented to indicate how use of sensitizing dyes extends the spectral range to which the substrate semiconductor is sensitive. Data demonstrate that specific energetic requirements exist for a dye to be an effective sensitizer. Also shows how photooxidation is increased by increasing surface concentration of the dye. (JN)
