Evaluation of a Personalized Instruction System in General Chemistry

Describes a general chemistry autoinstructional system, without formal lectures, supplemented by tutorial assistance from paid undergraduate chemistry majors. Although examination results indicated that the Personalized Instruction System (PSI) students performed on the same level as the lecture section students, the PSI students felt they learned more.
