Adsorption of Phosphate on Goethite: An Undergraduate Research Laboratory Project

A laboratory experiment on the adsorption of phosphate on goethite is presented, which also includes discussion on surface properties, interfaces, acid-base equilibrium, molecular structure and solid state chemistry. It was seen that many students were able to produce qualitatively correct results for a complex system of real interest and they were also able to present well-written reports.
