The American Chemical Society (ACS) is faced with developing the next generation of chemists with skills to compete successfully and to maintain the innovative edge of the American chemical enterprise as per a variable Elysian Field. The study shows disturbing decrease in the number of American students entering chemistry and science in general, while developing nations are seeing an increase in science students.
