Reducing the Use of Agrochemicals: A Simple Experiment
Vidal, M. M.; Filipe, Olga M. S.; Costa, M. C. Cruz
Journal of Chemical Education, v83 n2 p245 Feb 2006
An experiment was performed on polymeric-based controlled-release agrochemicals that minimize leaching into groundwater while maintaining an adequate quantity for the desired agrochemical benefits. Gelatin gel containing inorganic Phosphorous provides controlled-release of an agrochemical where release curves show a linear relationship between release and square root of time, implying a diffusion-controlled release mechanism.
