The Electrochemical Synthesis of Transition-Metal Acetylacetonates
Long, S. R.; Browning, S. R.; Lagowski, J. J.
Journal of Chemical Education, v85 n10 p1429-1431 Oct 2008
The electrochemical synthesis of transition-metal acetylacetonates described here can form the basis of assisting in the transformation of an entry-level laboratory course into a research-like environment where all members of a class are working on the same problem, but where each member has a personal responsibility for the synthesis and characterization of a specific compound. General student-oriented protocols are described, and typical student results are presented. (Contains 1 table.)
