Lyon, D. C.; Lagowski, J. J.
Journal of Chemical Education, v85 n11 p1571-1576 Nov 2008
We report the results of a study designed to investigate the effectiveness of peer-led, small-group discussions in a large (N greater than 400) general chemistry course usually taught in a traditional lecture format. The administrative structure, the training of the peer facilitators, and the achievement of students exposed to this environment compared with a control group are presented. (Contains 3 figures, 5 tables and 1 note.)
