Affordable Cyclic Voltammetry
Stewart, Greg; Kuntzleman, Thomas S.; Amend, John R.; Collins, Michael J.
Journal of Chemical Education, v86 n9 p1080-1081 Sep 2009
Cyclic voltammetry is an important component of the undergraduate chemical curriculum. Unfortunately, undergraduate students rarely have the opportunity to conduct experiments in cyclic voltammetry owing to the high cost of potentiostats, which are required to control these experiments. By using MicroLab data acquisition interfaces in conjunction with Pine Research Instrumentation screen-printed electrodes, it is possible to conduct experiments in cyclic voltammetry for a fraction of the traditional cost. Thus, by using the Pine-MicroLab interface, experiments in cyclic voltammetry can become more accessible to undergraduate chemistry students. (Contains 2 figures and 3 notes.)
