The Role of Fisher Information Theory in the Development of Fundamental Laws in Physical Chemistry
Honig, J. M.
Journal of Chemical Education, v86 n1 p116-119 Jan 2009
The unifying principle that involves rendering the Fisher information measure an extremum is reviewed. It is shown that with this principle, in conjunction with appropriate constraints, a large number of fundamental laws can be derived from a common source in a unified manner. The resulting economy of thought pertaining to fundamental principles should be more widely appreciated. (Contains 3 notes.)
