Depression, Anxiety, and Relevant Cognitions in Persons with Mental Retardation.
Glenn, Elizabeth; Bihm, Elson M.; Lammers, William J.
Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, v33 n1 p69-76 Feb 2003
This study assessed depression, anxiety, and relevant cognitions in 46 adults with borderline, mild, or moderate mental retardation. Consistent with research on other groups, self-reports of depression and anxiety were highly correlated and cognitions were strong predictors of negative affect. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses offered mixed support for cognitive specificity. (Contains references.) (Author/DB)
