Intercultural Learning and Diversity in Higher Education.
Otten, Matthias
Journal of Studies in International Education, v7 n1 p12-26 Spr 2003
Presents a theoretical framework for understanding intercultural learning. Begins by outlining what intercultural competence is and how it relates to the quality of intercultural contacts rather than the quantity. Next compares the concept of "internationalization at home" to approaches to diversity in regions with an explicit tradition (the United States, Canada, and Australia) and how efforts can be adapted to the European context.
