The modification of dietary behaviors on a community-wide basis requires broad-based, multilevel approaches. This article presents advantages and limitations of point-of-contact interventions and describes the controlled evaluations of their efficacy. (JOW)

Car seat loan programs addressing low-income populations should place greater emphasis on education of medical providers to provide education and referrals, encourage organizational policy that requires a safe first ride home, and address issues of social support and perceived norms and ease of acquisition. Data are presented on the prevalence and correlates of smokeless tobacco use among 568 adolescents in New York State.
