Alcohol educators should not overreact to teenage drinking but provide skills for adolescents and adults to abstain or to incorporate alcohol into their lifestyles in a responsible manner. The responsible use model of alcohol education, a significant change from earlier models because of its emphasis on affective instruction, is described. (MT)
