This study evaluated the efficacy of a theory-based school HIV/STD curriculum on eighth graders' HIV/STD-related attitudes and knowledge. Pretesting and posttesting of students who did and did not participate in the intervention indicated that the curriculum effectively improved HIV/STD-related attitudes but barely impacted knowledge. Reports the development of two nutrition behavior scales (for grades 2-3 and grades 4-6) given to 3,107 students from 129 schools nationwide. This study evaluated a four-hour training program on AIDS prevention for university residence hall assistants (RAs). Pre- and posttraining surveys of RAs who did and did not receive the training indicated that many significant changes in knowledge and beliefs resulted from the training.
