Overexcitability profiles of 49 adolescents were compared with those of gifted and nongifted adults. Results suggested that both gifted adolescents and adults as a group are characterized by two nonintellective factors: imaginational and emotional overexcitabilities and intellectual overexcitability. When students (N=38), labeled as gifted for at least five years, their parents (N=53), and siblings (N=28) completed an attitude scale, results indicated that non-labeled siblings came to terms with the label.
