The concept of fairness is discussed and suggestions provided for responding to concerns about fairness, including reflect back the students' feelings, listen for other meanings, respond consistently and without explanation, provide a procedure for registering complaints, develop a caring, cooperative classroom community, and make necessary accommodations for students with disabilities.
