Employment as an Outcome for Mildly Handicapped Students: Current Status and Future Directions.
Edgar, Eugene
Focus on Exceptional Children, v21 n1 p1-8 Sep 1988
The current educational system is not producing the outcomes it should for learning-disabled, mildly mentally retarded, and emotionally disturbed students, and standard educational interventions cannot solve the students' unemployment problems. Alternative solutions include improving vocational training, altering instructional goals, developing mentor programs, and developing alternative educational systems for non-college-bound students.
