Training Teachers for Quality Education in Europe.

The political context in which European cooperative educational activities occur has changed significantly. After the Lisbon Council established a goal for the European Union to become the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy worldwide and recognized the importance of education and training, this field gained new political importance. Teachers will be at the forefront in meeting this challenge. The integration and development of the new Comenius 2 is described. (SM)
