An Exploratory Factor Analysis of Harter's Self-Perception Profile for Adolescents with Academically Talented Students.

The factor structure of the Self-Perception Profile for Adolescents (S. Harter, 1985) was studied with 248 academically talented adolescents. Four of Harter's eight factors (Scholastic Competence, Athletic Competence, Job Competence, and Behavioral Conduct) were replicated, and items on four additional subscales appeared to tap the domains of general attractiveness and peer support.
