Do Spelling Tests Measure the Ability to Spell?
Craft, A. Cedric
Educational and Psychological Measurement, v42 n3 p715-23 Fall 1982

The correlation between writing samples and spelling production was greater than with recognition of correct spelling. Variations in reliability and rankings were not responsible for the relationship. (Author/CM)
