The relationship among 225 graduate and undergraduate students' attitudes toward effective teaching, student perceptions of teachers' attitudes, and ratings by students of teachers' effectiveness was examined. Variance in ratings explained by student-teacher attitude similarity was too small to be a biasing factor in student ratings of their instructors. (SLD)
