The purpose of this article is to look at the relationship between social support and the ways in which teachers cope with occupational stress, with particular emphasis on the role of social support in alleviating stress. Social support is interpreted to include social interaction with colleagues and communication with colleagues about direct-action techniques for dealing with stress. (DB)
