Schooling for Social Change: Some Theoretical Issues.
Emoungu, Paul-Albert
Educational Studies, v11 n1 p13-23 Spr 1980
Evaluates the ability of public schools in the United States to bring about desired social change. Argues that the notion of schooling for social change is both theoretically and empirically consistent with the structural-functionalism framework. Concludes that one must decide what one means by social change before deciding whether schooling can bring it about. (Author/DB)
