Argues that if black higher educational institutions are to survive, these institutions must redefine their role (s). Then the majority of these institutions can begin to deal with their most salient task--the development of viable educational programs which have as their focus the equipment of black people with the skills to compete, govern and actualize as self-sufficient people.
