More than "Model Minorities" or "Delinquents": A Look at Hmong American High School Students.
Lee, Stacey J.
Harvard Educational Review, v71 n3 p505-28 Fall 2001
Comparison of foreign-born Hmong who immigrated as children and second-generation Hmong-American high school students shows that economics, perceptions of family relationships, culture, and educational experiences influence school attitudes and provide more variation than the stereotypes of model minorities and delinquents. Accommodation and acculturation without assimilation appeared to support success. (Contains 35 references.)
