Data from teachers, district staff, community workers, and youth in Britain reveal a wide range of understanding about citizenship and very positive support for citizenship education. Respondents believed that citizenship education should focus on relevant content, use participative processes, be inclusive and primarily local, and ensure that outcomes are valued by a range of people.
