Assessing Faculty Salary Compression: An Application of Two Methods.
Fraas, John W.
Mid-Western Educational Researcher, v15 n4 p28-32 Fall 2002
Two methods utilizing multiple regression models and correlation values were used to determine whether faculty salaries at Ashland University (Ohio) reflected salary compression, an unusually small salary differential between junior and senior faculty. Salary compression was not found by either the suppressor effect method, which looked for a negative effect of years of experience, or the residual salary method, which compared actual and predicted salaries.
