Coping with Stress during the Teaching Practicum: The Student Teacher's Perspective.
MacDonald, Colla J.
Alberta Journal of Educational Research, v39 n4 p407-18 Dec 1993
Surveys, focus-group interviews, observations, and journal writings of 11 Canadian student teachers revealed sources of stress during the teaching practicum: role clarification, expectations, conformity, time, evaluation, assignments, peer discussions, and inconsistent feedback. Student teachers identified communication, conformity, initiative, goal setting, and relaxation techniques as strategies for coping with stress. (KS)
