The Psychology of Language.
Kjeldergaard, Paul M.
Review of Educational Research, v31 n2 p119-29 Apr 1961
This review of professional literature on the psychology of language summarizes and interprets selected books and articles published during the period 1957-60. The literature, selected on the basis of importance and applicability to education, is considered under the following headings: theories, research techniques, verbal learning, and linguistics and psychology. The summary indicates an intensification of interest in the psychology of language during the 3-year period and a shift in attention from such topics as information theory to the area of mediated generalization. A bibliography of 67 items is included. (AR)
