This paper integrates the findings of three studies that each analyzed the content of collective bargaining agreements, state statutes, and other documents. Taken together, the studies suggest that school districts are incorporating policies into collective bargaining agreements that run counter to school reform initiatives. (TJH)

This survey involving 1,211 teachers from 2 independent school districts in western Canada addressed teacher burnout issues. Findings of this qualitative/quantitative study indicate that experiences other than prolonged work stress may lead to burnout. An analysis of 300 undergraduate psychology student ratings of teachers was undertaken to assess the magnitude of halo error and a variety of rater, ratee, and course characteristics.
