Classroom Organization and the Gap between Minority and Non-Minority Student Performance Levels.
Simpson, Carl
Educational Research Quarterly, v6 n3 p43-53 Fall 1981
Conditions are specified under which classroom organization during instruction produces greater or lesser differentiation between performance levels of minority and non-minority students. This study examines within-classroom differentiation along ethnic lines under different organizational conditions. Standardized tests are sensitive to ethnic cultural/linguistic differences, but not to organizational variation in classrooms. (CE)
