The Effects of Late Arts Education on Adults with Early Visual Disabilities.
Hayhoe, Simon
Educational Research and Evaluation: An International Journal on Theory and Practice, v6 n3 p229-49 Jun 2000
Analyzed nonparticipant observations of five visually disabled adults in two extra mural arts education classes using W. Doyle's theory of ambiguity and risk in classroom tasks. Results show that these students attempted to avoid activity or renegotiate lecturers' expectations when their performance became especially threatening to their self-esteem. (SLD)
