Efficiency of the Primary and Secondary Schools in Sweden.

The efficiency of 286 Swedish municipalities in the provision of elementary and secondary school education in 1993-94 was studied through stochastic frontier production with the estimation of production- and cost-function models. Empirical results show that most operate at 85 to 100% efficiency. (SLD)
