The Fifth-Year Examination Achievements of Black Young People in England and Wales.
Drew, David; Gray, John
Educational Research, v32 n2 p107-17 Sum 1990
A study of a sample from the Youth Cohort Study of England and Wales compared socioeconomic background and achievements in fifth-year examinations of Afro-Caribbean, Asian, and White adolescents. In addition to differences between groups, considerable within-group differences associated with gender and socioeconomic status were found, perhaps even more influential than ethnic differences.
