Presents results of a year-long followup study through vignettes from four case studies carried out with 16 first-grade, Spanish-speaking children whose families recently immigrated to the United States. Develops a comprehensive picture of school adaptation and supports the need for a home-school mediator as a facilitator of children's adaptation to school. (SLD)
