Impact of Verbal Praise on College Students' Time Spent on Homework.
Hancock, Dawson R.
Journal of Educational Research, v93 n6 p384-89 Jul-Aug 2000
Examined whether well-administered verbal praise from their professor would affect college students' time spent on homework. The professor provided verbal praise or no verbal praise to different groups, and students completed a time-spent-on- homework-log. Results revealed that students who received verbal praise studied significantly more outside the classroom than students who received no verbal praise. (SM)
