Child Protection Training in Initial Teacher Training: A Survey of Provision in Institutions of Higher Education.

Responses from 83 British teacher-education programs indicated that 91.4% covered child-protection issues; in 85% the topic was mandatory. Coverage varied in length, timing, content, and instructional methods. The amount of time spent on this type of training may be decreasing due to pressures of the National Curriculum. (SK)
