Effects of Test Anxiety and Evaluative Threat on Students' Achievement and Motivation.
Hancock, Dawson R.
Journal of Educational Research, v94 n5 p284-90 May-Jun 2001
Investigated the interactive effects of students' levels of test anxiety and teachers' evaluation practices (evaluative threat) on the achievement and motivation of graduate students randomly assigned to high or low evaluative threat conditions. All students, but particularly test-anxious students, performed poorly and were less motivated when exposed to highly evaluative classrooms. (SM)
