Schooling for the Future Survey: An Overview, Chapter 2
Kim, Meesook; Mutch, Carol
International Journal of Educational Research, v41 n7-8 p512-522 2004
The first phase of the Schooling for the Future Project surveyed high-profile educational policy makers and leaders in 11 societies across the Asia-Pacific region. The survey, in the form of a written questionnaire, asked respondents to rank the six OECD/CERI Schooling for Tomorrow scenarios (OECD/CERI, 2001. "What schools for the future?" Paris: OECD) in order of desirability and probability in the context of their own societies, then to consider these and select their most preferred. Although there were minor differences, there was a surprisingly high level of consensus with Learning Organizations (Scenario 4) considered the most desirable and Bureaucratic Systems (Scenario 1) the most probable scenarios across the societies in the region.
