This paper examines the presentation of three sets of indicators on education published by the OECD ("Education at a Glance"), the European Union ("Key Data on Education") and the French Ministry of Education ("The State of Education") in recent years. In the first part, the author describes the way "Education at a Glance" and "Key Data on Education"--both dealing with international comparison--and "The State of Education"--mostly presented from a national perspective--present their data (sources and methodology), formulate their concerns and present their results. In the second part, the author analyses the way documents position themselves as references in their field. In the third part, she points out the main changes that occurred in the three documents over the past three years, while in the fourth she analyses the three publications according to Jaap Scheerens' typology.
