Young People's Perceptions of the Mathematics Involved in Everyday Activities.
Edwards, Amanda; Ruthven, Kenneth
Educational Research, v45 n3 p249-60 Win 2003

They were aware of daily math and did not have difficulties identifying math in practical or traditionally female activities. However, they restricted math to activities involving single-solution problems and formal rather than experiential/intuitive approaches. (Contains 18 references.) (SK)
